Walter Palmer, the American dentist who shot Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe earlier this year, was pictured going back to work on September 8th. He was welcomed at his dental office by a throng of peaceful protestors, many of which the BBC reports had never heard of lion trophy hunting prior to Cecil's death.

Palmer claims that the hunt he participated in, in which he killed Cecil outside of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, was a legal one and that no one in his hunting party knew who Cecil was. All of these claims come after two in Palmer's hunting party attempted to destroy Cecil's radio-collar after they shot the lion.

Cecil's death sparked international outrage, resulting in a global outcry against Palmer. His dental office was consistently protested, with his vacation home in Florida having been vandalized.
