MEANWHILE IN AUSTRALIA...

For anyone whose been keeping up with news of the lion trophies ban in Australia (implemented by Minister Greg Hunt in March 2015), it's no secret that some Australian Senators are seeking to undermine Hunt's ban by attempting to pass a disallowance motion, in effect canceling the ban that is currently keeping lion trophies out of Australia.

Senator Leyonhjelm in Oz sought to table a disallowance motion on June 15th, 2015 which would see Hunt's ban on lion trophies lifted, effectually allowing Australian hunters (see "men with no dignity" for further reference) to bring their lion trophies home. The motion has now been moved to be tabled on August 12th, 2015. You can help keep the lion trophy ban in place by writing to these Senators (like Leyonhjelm) to express your concerns and voice your opinion on behalf of lions!

Leyonhjelm took to writing a piece for the Sydney Morning Herlad - published on June 16th, 2015 - which expresses his own views on hunting & explains why he thinks a ban on canned hunts and the like will actually hurt conservation (LOL!). You can read about it here: http://www.smh.com.au/comment/a-ban-on-hunting-wont-save-the-lion-it-will-hurt-conservation-efforts-20150615-ghnxhk.html

Of course, we here at PACH took to our computers and got busy writing to these Senators, urging them to reconsider their positions & opinions on the ban. You can help us (and our animal activist friends in Australia) by wrtiting to these Senators also!
